FP 2002 Web Components

If you use FP 2002, you may insert news headlines, weather, stock tickers, and more, using FP 2002 web components. Go to Insert/Web Component and choose the type of component you wish to add.

Adding New Pages to Your Web

You may add new pages in two ways.

1. Copy an existing page.

This is useful if you have inserted a logo and made other layout changes that you want to apply to all the new pages that you are creating. Open a page that has the layout the way you want it, then go to File/Save As. Save the page under a new name - be sure to change the page title as well! Then, go to Navigation View and drag your new page into the navigation structure.

2. Use the Page Template.

Go to File/New/Page (2000) or File/New/Page or Web (2002). In 2002, click on "New from Page Template" in the right column. Browse to the page template you wish to use and click OK. This will bring up a new page in FrontPage. You will need to save this page into your web. Then, go to Navigation View and drag your new page into the navigation structure.

Deleting Pages from Your Web

Right-click on the pages you wish to delete in your Folder List, in Folder View, or in Navigation View, then select "Delete."

Renaming Pages

If you would like to use an existing page but want to rename it, you may easily do this in Folders View. Right-click on the file name and/or the page title and choose "Rename" to rename your file.

Saving Files

When you save files, you want to be sure of two things:

Change the Page Title by clicking on the "Change..." button. This is the title that is displayed on your banners, buttons, and the browser window title bar.

The "File Name" should end with .htm or .html, and should have no spaces or some special characters (like slashes).

If you don't want this column, click here and go to Table / Select / Cell, then right-click and select Delete Cell.

Child Pages

This web template includes additional pages that may fall into your "About Us" section: Company Info, Press Releases, Legal Statements, and Privacy Policy. If you feel that you do not need all of those pages, you may delete them as needed.
